In May of 2002, Northwestern Elementary School was renamed Claude Thompson Elementary after Mr. Claude Thompson, a former principal and educator in Fauquier County.
Thompson Elementary serves children in grades pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. We have high expectations for all students and staff. The PTO, community, staff, and students, work closely together in creating an effective and competitive learning environment.
We are very concerned, at Thompson, about the safety of our students and staff. All visitors must sign-in at the office and get a visitors badge before they move throughout the school.
We are a fully accredited school and have proudly met AYP and SOL benchmarks every year!
